This word has been a big one for me in 2017. I have worked very hard to find my purpose and to live with it more.

Unfortunately for me it was watching a family member die and cutting out toxic relationships that awoke me from my monotonous life.

My plan for 2018 is now to live out my purpose that I have found. To keep pursuing a purposeful life and teaching my family and others the same.

Let’s chat through how to live a more purposeful life this year…

1. Know What Is Important

“Know what’s important for you. Write down your top 5 things that you believe are the essence of how you want to live life. This can include things like “family time,” or “sing every day.” It could also include more complex ideas, like “honesty” and “simplicity.”” – Lifehack

2. Pursue Your Passion

“I believe everyone should pursue their passion in life. It’s what makes life worth living, and gives our lives true meaning and purpose. Each time you work on something you love, it creates joy inside you like nothing else. Finding a way to use your passions to give back to the world will give your life ultimate meaning.” – Lifehack

3. Live In The Present Moment

“We live in a world of distractions and discontent in the present moment. We yearn for the past and fear what’s to come in the future, and tend to be uneasy in the now. This moment, right this minute, is what truly matters- it’s all we have! Start to adjust your thinking and your habits to be more present in whatever task you are involved in, and let the rest go.” – Peaceful Mind Peaceful Life

4. Set Goals

“The way to make any dream come true is to set goals. When I set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals for myself, it is easy to feel good about what I’m doing. I don’t have to go searching for purpose because it is written down for me to look at anytime I need to. Having written goals is a great way to measure your purpose.” – FamilyShare

5. Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Find what you are curious about and pursue it. Do something that has scared you to do for years. Introduce yourself to new people. Whatever it is try new things this year.

6. Prioritize Your Time Wisely

“As we all know, life moves at the speed of light. Time is our most precious asset. Wake up each day with a plan to accomplish something meaningful. Something you will feel good about when you turn out the light that night.” – Inc.

7. Always Give Back

“There is nothing wrong with investing in yourself and your future. For pursuing success in all areas of your life. But one of the best ways to seek happiness is through service to others. Remember that giving time is more valuable than giving money.” – Inc.

8. Be Disciplined In Your Personal and Professional

“LifeBeing accountable requires discipline. Discipline is the only way to discover your best personal self: the cross-section between purpose, talent, and effort. Discipline leads to accomplishing goals and avoiding bad decisions.” – Inc.

9. Know Your Why

Knowing your why can help you all through life. If before most decisions we made in life we simply asked the question, “why?” our lives would go much differently. Why do you want to accomplish a goal? Why do you want to live with more purpose? If we don’t know the why it will be very hard to know the “what” or “how”.
